چکیده
Accurate characterization of large-scale antenna arrays is growing in importance and complexity for the fifth-generation (5G) beyond systems, as they feature more elements require increased overall performance. The full 3D patterns all array need to be characterized because are general different due construction inaccuracy, coupling, array's asymmetry, etc. effective aperture distribution function (EADF) can provide an analytic description based on a full-sphere measurement anechoic chamber. However, increases, denser spatial samples needed EADF large distance offsets from reference point chamber, leading prohibitive time EADF. In this paper, we present applied highlight issues caused by aperture. To overcome issues, enhanced proposed with low that intrinsically determined characteristic each element rather than validated using experimental measurements conducted at 27-30 GHz frequency band relatively planar array.

Biologically Inspired Four Elements Compact Antenna Arrays With Enhanced Sensitivity for Direction of Arrival Estimation
A new four elements compact antenna array is presented and discussed to achieve enhanced phase resolution without sacrificing the array output power. This structure inspired by the Ormia Ochracea’s coupled ears. The analogy between this insect acute directional hearing capabilities and the electrically compact antenna array is used to enhance the array sensitivity to direction of arrival estima...
متن کاملWideband Vivaldi Arrays for Large Aperture Antennas
Singleand dual-polarized arrays of Vivaldi notch elements have been extensively analyzed by using efficient numerical analyses. From these analyses and from experimental studies, element designs and array configurations have been determined to provide more than two octaves of bandwidth while scanning to 45° from broadside in all directions. Parameter studies illustrating the effects of some key...
متن کاملNew Ala100hg Large Aperture Active Loop Antenna
The Active Loop Antenna Model ALA100HG is a large aperture antenna designed to provide improved performance compared to traditional active and passive antennas. The ALA100HG has two modes of operation; at Medium and Low Frequencies the antenna is a high efficiency broadband Loop; for High frequencies the antenna has a response similar to a Longwire. The ALA100HG is primarily designed to reduce ...
متن کاملAnalysis of depth-of-focus of synthetic aperture antenna arrays.
Interferometric synthetic aperture arrays (SAA) can be refocused at any range via digital processing of the raw data, called the visibility function. Such systems are sensitive, however, to ranging errors in digital refocusing. They, therefore, exhibit a limited depth of focus, because these errors are equivalent to introducing defocus in the system. We derive an analytical expression for the S...
متن کاملHybrid precoding based on matrix-adaptive method for multiuser large-scale antenna arrays
Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is envisioned to offer a considerable improvement in capacity, but it has a high cost and the radio frequency (RF) chain components have a high power consumption at high frequency. To address this problem, a hybrid analog and digital precoding scheme has been studied recently, which restricts the number of RF chains to far less than the number of an...
